Can Men and Women Truly Be Friends?

In every relationship between man and woman, even if a friendship started with no sexual intentions eventually down the line one of the two will revert back to their natural instinct of sexual desire of the opposite sex, which then will lead to the friendship to dissolve. The thing about the same sex, being friends is. Unless they like their own sex theres no way that any sexual desire/dilemma will ever take place. This would be the exact reason for why the same sex would be able to sustain their friendship for years to come.
